The University
of Leeds is a large university in the north of England with over 20,000
full-time equivalent students and over 2,000 academic and research staff.
It has a strong research reputation. It is among the top ten universities
in the UK for research activities funded by European programmes. It was
involved in 122 Framework Four projects, 42 of which were co-ordinated at
the University. The School of Psychology is a large department with over 60 members of academic, research, and support staff, |
including five professors. The Human Factors group comprises seven psychologists and is one of four research groups in this School. Close links with Engineering , Computing, and the Business School have been developed. It has a purpose-built human factors suite, a highly-specified psychophysiology laboratory, a specialised laboratory for research on psychoacoustics and bright light manipulation, and ties with the Leeds Advanced Driving Simulator (LADS), a state of the art facility that attracts a high level of both external funding (recent upgrade of £650k) and a high level of international collaboration. |
